A 34-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 27 year-old woman whose body was found in a car at Hackham West yesterday.
Police say the man was known to the victim and was arrested by Detectives just after 10pm last night.
The man was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.
Two young children sounded a car horn after finding their mother’s lifeless body in a car at their Hackham West home on Sunday, sparking a police manhunt for the woman’s partner.
A neighbour has told The Advertiser she heard “bloodcurdling screams” at 4am.

She said she had discovered the 27-year-old woman’s body inside a car in the driveway of the Blueridge Rd family home after the dead woman’s young sons, aged about seven and two-and-a-half, had sounded the car horn.
She had heard arguing between the couple throughout the night and on one occasion, had asked them to quieten down.
Police said they were treating the death as suspicious and investigatingthe possibility it was the result of a domestic dispute.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Paul Lightfoot said the house had not previously been known to police.
He said police did not believe a weapon had been used to kill the woman, who is believed to be of African descent.
Shocked neighbours said the woman was often seen walking with her children.
A trampoline and a basketball ring could be seen in the backyard near the car where the woman’s body was found.
One neighbour, whose fence separates her backyard with the family’s, said she often saw the children playing on the trampoline.
“They are lovely children, they are always respectful,” she said.
Another neighbour said he heard a horn sound and dogs barking early in the morning.
But several other neighbours said they heard nothing out of the ordinary.
“It is an eerie feeling to think that could happen without anyone hearing anything,” a neighbour said.
Another neighbour said he would often see the family mother walking happily with her children but never saw the man with them.
Police towed the Holden Captiva about 4.30pm to undertake further analysis.
They said the woman’s children were being cared for.
Neighbour Peter Hygham said the couple had lived at the house for about 3-4 years.
“They kept to themselves a lot but seemed nice,” he said.
