SHANE Warne has hit out at an Adelaide woman who sold her story to a glossy women’s magazine after going on a date with the spin king.
In an exclusive interview with the Sunday Mail ahead of his role as the King of Moomba, Warne said he was “annoyed” Adelaide woman Kim McGrath pocketed cash from Woman’s Day to recall her “wild” encounter with Warne after meeting the cricket legend using the Tinder app.
He questioned her recollection of the “wild romp” in an Adelaide hotel room, which she spoke of in explicit detail.

“If someone wants to be silly and go and do something like that, then fine,” Warne said.
“Whatever they do they are going to do, but I wish they would get some facts in there rather than sensationalise it.”
A candid Warne, 45, said he was happily single, admitting his high-profile and hectic travel schedule made it hard to find love.

But he said his focus at the moment was his three children — Brooke, 17, Jackson, 16 and Summer, 14.
“I can guarantee I am 100 per cent single,” he said.
“My kids are my number one priority, (then) my work, my poker, my cricket commentating, my foundation. Having a girlfriend or someone is way down the list at the moment.
“When you travel all over the place, yes, it can be quite lonely and hard to find someone.
“So at this stage I’m very, very single.
“I’m a single parent and having a great time.”

For someone whose private life had been public for decades, one could excuse Warne for wanting to stay out of the spotlight.
But he said social media had provided a great platform for him to gain control over what is being said and written about him.
He provided regular updates to his millions of followers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, often sharing intimate personal details.
“I think it’s a really important part of society at the moment,” he said.
“It’s a great way to communicate with your fans. It’s a great way to set the record straight. I think it humanises you.”
But he said he had no time for the trolls who make a sport out of hurling online abuse at celebrities.
“I enjoy blocking people who follow you then bag you,” he said.
“I don’t understand that.”

The Test legend splits his time between Melbourne and England, but said when he was in Melbourne it was all about the kids.
“I’m lucky I have them for about 150-odd days a year, which is great,” he said.
“They have time with their mum (Simone Callahan), which is excellent, and time with me, which really works.
“My time with them, whether it be in Melbourne, London, or America, we have a lot of good, fun times.
“I’m also there as a dad with whatever they are going through, and sharing things.
“My eldest daughter (Brooke) is going through her last year of school and there is homework, which I don’t really understand … but they are fantastic.”

Jackson has shown he might have inherited some of his father’s sporting prowess.
He made headlines recently after snaring a hat-trick while playing cricket for Brighton Grammar.
“This year was the cricket year with his mates,” he said.
“This last weekend he got his highest score, 38, and he got the hat-trick, which was fantastic.
“I was there to see that.
“For me, it’s just great to see him participating, it’s a great thing for children to do. He loves his Aussie rules, and now to play cricket for a bit of fun with his mates. I think that’s really exciting.
“I love watching all my kids play sport.”
Warne expects to be busy this year, travelling between Australia, Britain and the US for his commentary, poker and social commitments.

In the next four months he’ll be in Melbourne for the World Cup, back in London for a few weeks, Miami for a friend’s 50th birthday, Ireland for a wedding, back to London for commentary duty, Las Vegas with his children for the World Series of Poker, then back to England in June for The Ashes.
“Unfortunately, I’m a human frequent flyer point at the moment,” he said.
But, to steal a line from Peter Allen, he still calls Australia — and particularly Melbourne — home.
Warne will be the toast of the city tomorrow when he heads the parade as the King of Moomba.
He said he was honoured to be given the Moomba crown, and incredibly proud of his home city, admitting he had taken great joy showing off the best of Melbourne to high-profile friends, including Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Warne’s ex-fiancee, Elizabeth Hurley.
“I spend as much time as I possibly can in Melbourne,” he said. “It’s just a great city.
“There is just such a great, relaxed vibe.
“I’ve been lucky to travel the world and I think London has a vibe, New York has a vibe, one of the most amazing cities I’ve been to.
“There is just a vibe, and Melbourne has that vibe, as much as any other city I’ve been to.”
