UP to 100 members of The Comancheros are expected to arrive in Adelaide this afternoon on the Outlaw Motorcycle Gang’s national run.
Police will be actively monitoring this weekend’s national run, which is being sponsored by the Adelaide chapter of the eastern states-based motorcycle club.
It is understood its members are making their way over to Adelaide from regional Victoria.
Several of the club’s SA members are currently in prison or in custody on remand for serious offences including attempted murder, blackmail and aggravated serious cause harm involving the use of firearms and other weapons.
Chief Inspector Kym Hand, from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch, said the public should be reassured that these interstate OMCG members would be met by a heavy police presence in SA.
“Given the known propensity of OMCGs for violence and unlawful activity, the participants in this run will be extensively monitored,” he said.
“Policing OMCGs is a national activity with all state and federal policing agencies involved. We have been in constant contact with our interstate colleagues. Any restrictive orders already in place in relation to individuals such as firearms and hotel barring orders will be enforced.
The public are urged to report any suspicious or known illegal activity to police by phoning 131 444.
